“We have identified the Ethereum-Hamanets belonging to the attacker and contacted him to agree on the return of client assets,” the developers said.
Cetus, together with the Inca Digital analytical company, sent an onchin message with a call to return 20 920 ETH (over $ 56 million) and all blocked assets at SUI addresses. In the case of cooperation, he is offered to leave 2324 ETH (about $ 6 million) in the form of a remuneration, and the platform will give up any claims.
If the hacker begins to withdraw or retell the stolen assets, the proposal will be recalled and Cetus will continue the investigation and proceed to legal actions.
The developers have also creeped about determining and eliminating the vulnerability that the attacker used. SUI validators agreed to boycott the transactions related to the attacker’s address.
The decision selectively block transactions has caused criticism in the community, provoked statements about the absence of decentralization and the “conspiracy” of validators.
