Power grids are significantly damaged, and due to low temperatures, people are using electric heaters more actively. We ask you to consume electricity sparingly during the restoration of the power system after the shelling,” said Svyridenko.
She also clarified that by the end of the day, the capital is expected to switch to scheduled power supply schedules.
Earlier, on January 10, the KMDA reported that an emergency power outage had been introduced in the capital: the work of the water supply, heat supply, and electric transport systems was stopped. At the moment, energy workers are carrying out restoration work.
On the night of January 9, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine. According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the main target of which was Kyiv region. Emergency blackouts have been introduced in the city.

Ukraine and its Western partners deny that such a strike took place, saying that Russia is thus trying to justify new attacks and delay peace talks.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga said that in response to the attack, Ukraine will initiate an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, as well as a response within the framework of the EU, the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
