Budanov agreed to head the Office of the President/ photo president.gov.uaKyrylo Budanov accepted Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s offer to head the Office of the President of Ukraine. The ex-head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence announced this in his Telegram.
“I continue to serve Ukraine. I consider the position of the head of the President’s Office as another milestone of responsibility to the country. For me, it is an honor and a responsibility – in a historic time for Ukraine to focus on critically important issues of the strategic security of our state. Thank you for your trust!” Budanov wrote.
He also thanked all comrades-in-arms and the team of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine for their joint work.
“We will continue to do our part – to beat the enemy, protect Ukraine and work to achieve a just peace. Let’s continue to fight together for a free and safe future of Ukraine!” Budanov added.
The new head of the Office of the President: what is knownEarlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he offered the head of the State Government Kyryll Budanov the position of head of the President’s Office. According to Zelenskyi, the renewed Office will primarily focus on security issues, the development of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, as well as the peace process.
“I also instructed the new head of the President’s Office in cooperation with the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and other necessary leaders and institutions to update and present for approval the strategic foundations of the defense and development of our state and further steps,” Zelenskyy added.
The previous head of the OP, Andriy Yermak, resigned on November 28 against the background of an investigation into the disclosure of a huge corruption scheme in the energy sector.
