The Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the law, which guarantee servicemen the right to receive monetary compensation for all unused days of annual basic and additional leave in the event of dismissal from service during martial law.
About it reports People’s Deputy Irina Gerashchenko.
322 MPs voted in favor of the corresponding bill No. 11495, which testifies to the widespread support of this initiative among parliamentarians.
From now on, every military person who is dismissed during martial law will be able to receive compensation for all days of leave that have not been used through the mobilization and performance of their duties.
The law clearly defines that if a serviceman was not able to use a vacation through mobilization, the state undertakes to pay him monetary compensation for the year of dismissal. This applies to both the basic and additional leave to which the military was entitled.
New rules come into force one month from the next day after the official publication of the law. This will allow the authorities to prepare for changes and provide timely payments to all who are released.
The law is intended to protect the rights of servicemen who, because of the war, could not take advantage of a well -deserved rest, and is another step towards strengthening social guarantees for Ukraine’s defenders.
It should be noted that earlier the military could lose the right to compensate for unused vacation days if they were released during a special period. Now the state recognizes the need to support those who have given their strength to service at a difficult time for the country.
The law will also promote the motivation of military personnel and strengthen confidence in state institutions.
We will remind, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading the bill No. 12406, which establishes criminal liability for violation or bypassing economic sanctions.
We have also reported that on June 3, the Verkhovna Rada supported the first reading of the Bill No. 13266, which provides for the establishment of the Institute of Military Ombudsman.
