EU High Representative Josep Borrell, as part of his visit to Ukraine, visited the village of Yagidne in Chernihiv Oblast, which suffered from the Russian occupation.
“In Yagidny, the Russian occupiers kept an entire village – 370 people – in the basement of the school for a month (squares – ed.) 170 m2. Their ordeal takes us back to the darkest days of European history,” Borrel wrote on Kh.
He added that “this event is a terrible reminder of what life looks like for ordinary Ukrainians under Russian occupation.”
