Borrell’s direct speech: “When there is no unity, it is impossible to show strength. Very often we were not united and held discussions for too long. We cannot claim to be a geopolitical player if we have days, weeks, months to agree on a decision to act. So my last appeal to my colleagues is to be united, decide quickly. Events do not wait, Russia does not suspend the war because you are thinking.”

Details: He added that every time the countries of the European Union decided something regarding the support of Ukraine, it “was too long”.

“Every time there were doubts whether it should be done or not. The war continues, Ukrainians need more of our support… We should stop talking and start acting faster,” Borrell stressed.

Borrell also stated that the latest large-scale missile attack by the Russian Federation proves that the head of the Kremlin is not in the mood for negotiations.

Read a recent interview with “European Truth”, in which Borrell shares the results of his efforts to support Ukraine in office.

Prehistory:

  • Josep Borrell will soon complete his work in his position together with the previous composition of the European Commission. His successor should be former Prime Minister of Estonia Kaia Kallas.
  • At the hearing on her appointment, Callas emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and being realistic about the threats that Europe may face.

“EvroPravda” already talked about the candidate for the position of head of European diplomacy in the article “Russophobe, whom Europe trusted: what to expect from Kaya Callas at the head of EU diplomacy”
