Passenger traffic across the border of Ukraine rose by 1.6% in the first week of August – to 778 thousand, setting a new record since the war with Russia. The previous record of 737 thousand was recorded in August last year.

In the tenth week of summer, there was an increase in the number of people traveling abroad: this figure increased from 367 thousand to 376 thousand. At the same time, the number of those who enter also increased a little – from 399 thousand to 401 thousand.
Last weekends were characterized by intense movement across the border: 123 to 129 thousand intersections were recorded daily, while on Saturday this figure amounted to about 120 thousand.
The number of vehicles passed through checkpoints has also increased from 141 thousand to 142 thousand. However, the flow of humanitarian cars decreased slightly – from 570 to 538.
The Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service reported that with the beginning of the summer season passenger traffic through checkpoints in the Lviv region increased by 40%. In addition, on weekends, the load on checkpoints increases by an average of another 16% compared to everyday life.
The largest load is observed in the checkpoints “Krakivtsi”, “Shehyni” and “Ustilug”. Moderate download-in Hrushev, Ugrinev and Ravi-Ruska. The least – in the points “Smilnitsa” and “Nizhankovichi”.
As of Sunday at noon on the Polish border, the largest queues of cars were recorded at Ustilug – 60 cars, 35 cars were expected in Hrushev, 30 – in Ugrinev, 25 – in Krakivka, and 10 in Shehyni.
On the border with Hungary, the most delays were observed at the crossing of “Luzhanka” – 30 cars in the queue. 20 cars were expected at the points “fork” and “ringing”, 15 – in Kosino and 5 – in “Tisza”.
At the border with Slovakia, the most cars were waiting at Uzhgorod (35) and Small Berezniy (25). At the border with Romania, the queues were at the points “Podbubne” (60 cars) and “Dyakovo” (15).
In total, in 2025, the intersection of the border by humans is higher by 5.7% compared to last year. Then, during the same period, 356 thousand left Ukraine and 380 thousand people left. The number of vehicles was also less – 137 thousand.
