Last day, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment detained 11 people who tried to illegally cross the state border in the Ukrainian Carpathians. This is reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The incident occurred during the patrolling of the high-mountain section of the border by the department of inspectors of the “Bohdan” border service. The detainees are men of military age from various regions of Ukraine, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Odesa. They tried to get to Romania bypassing checkpoints.
Border guards emphasize that even in the most difficult weather conditions, such as snowfall and night frosts, border patrols continue continuously. In addition, the tracks of wild animals such as bears in the mountains testify to the danger posed by such behavior.
Given the deterioration of weather conditions, which lead to sub-zero temperatures at night, the DPSU warns against illegal crossing of the border, as this is not only a violation of the law, but also a real threat to health and life.
