The boxer is unhappy with the financial terms of his contract and the fees for the last fights. Lopez is set to leave Top Rank, but Arum is demanding work out before the current deal ends. While the promoter is looking for the next opponents for Teofimo, the boxer continues to refuse all the proposed options.
The last time Teofimo appeared in the ring was in June last year and it is unclear when his next fight will take place. The World Boxing Organization (WBO) decided to respond to this conflict.
On February 15 in Manchester (England), the British Jack Catterroll (30–1, 13 KOs) and the American Arnold Barbosa (31–0, 11 KOs) will meet in the ring. The winner of this fight will become the interim WBO champion, and then fight Teofimo Lopez for the full title.
The fight between Jack Catterall and Arnold Barboza could be for the interim Superligero OMB championship on February 15.
