Turkey played a mediating role, hosting preliminary talks between Ukraine and Russia. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan may personally deliver the results of the talks to Moscow, which is not sending anyone to the meeting, if there is a positive outcome, including a potential prisoner exchange, one of the agency’s interlocutors said.
Zelensky announced his trip to Turkey earlier on Tuesday. “We are preparing to revive the negotiations and have developed solutions that we will offer to our partners,” Zelensky said, adding that everything should be done to bring the end of the war closer.
Zelensky said that he plans to go to Turkey on Wednesday after his visit to Spain.
