The price of Bitcoin reached nearly $100,000 on Thursday as investors anticipate a more favorable US approach to cryptocurrencies under President-elect Donald Trump.

The cryptocurrency has more than doubled in price this year, and is up about 40% in the two weeks since Trump was elected the next US president and a number of pro-crypto lawmakers were elected to Congress.

More than $4 billion has flowed into U.S. exchange-traded funds trading bitcoin since the election.
