On January 21, the Supervisory Board of AOZ announced that its members unanimously decided to extend the contract with Marina Bezruk, the director of the defense procurement agency. After that, the journalist and member of the Public Anti -Corruption Council at MU Tatiana Nikolaenko reported that the Ministry of Defense did not agree that the decision of the Supervisory Board, despite the fact that, according to her, IUU should not be agreed, reported journalists of the Radio Liberty investigations.
On January 22, the Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that it has concluded an additional agreement to a contract with the current director of the agency Marina Bezruk for a term of 1 year.

But on January 24, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov stated that the military department would not continue the contract with Marina Bezruk, and promised to punish “all who failed work” on defense purchases. The Ministry of Defense also withdrew two representatives of the state from the Supervisory Board of AOP.
According to Umerov, the restart of the Supervisory Board will take place in the near future, and ACO Director Arsen Zhumadilov, who holds a similar position of head in another state -owned enterprise, is appointed – a state -owned rear operator, which, like AOP, is subordinated to the Ministry of Defense.

Zhumadilov himself confirmed that he agreed to become the new director of the defense agency. On January 29, Radio Liberty said that he was currently working with Marina Bezruk’s management now. According to him, now it is not about the transfer of cases, because she has not left the post, but only removed, and Bezrukov processes documents that came to AOP until January 27.
At the same time, Marina Bezrukova says that she does not understand whether her work in the ministry, direct claims, she says, Umerov never expressed, on the contrary – he publicly supported her ideas.
The Ambassadors of the Seven Group countries (G7) have already responded to the conflict between the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and the defense procurement agency (AOP). They recommend to settle everything as soon as possible.
