On January 11, the French tennis player Gael Monfils (ATP 52) won the ATP 250 tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the final, the husband of Ukrainian Elina Svitolina defeated Ziza Bergs (Belgium, ATP 66) in 1 hour and 31 minutes with a score of 6:3, 6:4.

Thanks to this victory, Monfils became the oldest champion of the ATP level tournament since 1977 after Ken Rosewall.

And since 1990, the oldest was the legendary Roger Federer. The Swiss at the age of 38 years and 2 months became the winner of the competition in Basel. Monfils in Oakland took the title at 38 years and 4 months.
