Against the background of the suspicion brought against the leader of the “Batkivshchyna” parliamentary party, Yulia Tymoshenko, a discussion has begun about who can lead this political force, if the trial proceeds to a verdict. Observers note that the party leadership may pay attention to Khrystyna Ilnytska, who is currently engaged in active party activities in the Odesa region.
In particular, the journalist, former prisoner Volodymyr Fomichev, emphasizes this.
The journalist noted that Khrystyna Ilnytska is now the common-law wife of the ex-deputy prosecutor general Dmytro Verbytskyi. But it was not always like that. Previously, she lived with a businessman, the late co-owner of the yacht club Yuriy Priymak.
Testament of a businessman
“I managed to communicate with the businessman’s widow Natalia Pryimak. According to her, before the appearance of Ilnytska, her husband lived with her and the children, after – he began to live with Ilnytska, sold a share of the business in order to buy her a luxury car “Jaguar” and take her to Monaco on vacation,” Fomichev wrote.
The businessman’s widow said that her husband did not want to divorce and tried to save this marriage. But Ilnytska was under a lot of pressure during this period.
“He was still married, he lived with me, but she already came to the yacht club and hung around him. She closely guarded him, let’s say. He spent all the money on her, sold a share of another business in which he was involved for a very long time, and spent all the money on buying a car for her. Rented an apartment, went with her to Monaco. And he told the children that there was nothing to pay. And I knocked elements out of it and received 3 thousand hryvnias. He said that he had no money, although there were a lot of photos on Facebook of them vacationing in Monaco. She posted photos with gifts from him on the new Jaguar,” Natalya Pryimak said.
Ilnytska sued his ex-wife on behalf of Pryimak to collect half of the money for her car, bought during the marriage, although they had two other cars.
Already in 2020, Pryimak unexpectedly fell ill with cancer and died quickly, but before that he made a will and for some reason transferred all his property to Ilnytska, and not to the mother of his children, or to the children themselves.
“I saw him only before his death in the hospital. And the people who were near him, his partner from the business he sold, said that when metastases started in his head, he didn’t quite understand what was happening. He was engaged in the resale of boats and yachts. She completely took it under herself and began to manage it all herself,” Prymak recalled.
Former business partners and acquaintances of Pryimak believe that Ilnytska deliberately brought him to a quick death by improper treatment with “magic herbs” instead of evidence-based medicine. After all, the mother of the possible future leader of “Batkivshchyna” is engaged in fortune-telling. Priymak’s business partner even showed documents from the hospital where his melanoma was treated with homeopathy.
Later, the court annulled the will in favor of the family, however, as Ilnytska herself reported in a letter to “Schemes”, after working with Priymak, she was left with considerable wealth, in particular, 15 objects of movable and immovable property. Among them are three plots of land, two houses, an apartment, six cars, three yachts.
Romance with Verbytskyi
In 2024, Ilnytska began to meet with former deputy general prosecutor Dmytro Verbytskyi. She herself wrote about this on Facebook, posting joint photos. Let me remind you that Verbytskyi was dismissed from the Prosecutor General’s Office with a scandal after the publication of “Schemes” about his house in the cottage town “Konyk”.
According to the documents, the house was purchased for UAH 2 million, while the market value was estimated at more than UAH 18.5 million. The agreement was drawn up by the ex-prosecutor’s nephew, and Verbytsky himself, according to journalists, was present during the signing. Based on these facts, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine initiated criminal proceedings against Verbytsky regarding possible illegal enrichment.
Later, it turned out that there was another estate nearby – already registered for Verbytskyi’s common-law wife Khrystyna Ilnytska. The investigators received the contract of sale of this house, which states that Ilnytska paid much less for it – about 2 million hryvnias, 1.9 million for the house and 200,000 for the land. That is, in general – 24 times less than the market value.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption conducted a full review of Verbytskyi’s declarations. According to its results, the NAKC established signs of illegal enrichment in the amount of more than UAH 30 million and unreliable information in the amount of another UAH 2.38 million.
Among the assets that, according to the agency’s conclusions, were purchased with funds from unidentified sources:
- an apartment and a plot of land in Antalya (Turkey), issued for the ex-wife;
- residential building and plot in Odesa;
- house and land in Kyiv, registered to a third person through Verbytskyi’s nephew;
- cash, the origin of which is not documented.
Part of the property was re-registered already after the opening of the proceedings. In particular, Khrystyna Ilnytska gave her mother a cottage in Koncha-Zaspa 16 days after the case was registered with NABU.
Now Verbytskyi and Ilnytskyi are involved in politics in Odesa as leaders of the Batkivshchyna local branch. However, they say that after serving the suspicion on party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, Verbytskyi is promoting his common-law wife to replace her.
