During the period before Easter, a significant increase in passenger traffic is expected at the Ukrainian checkpoints.
According to a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko on the air of a telecommunication, 95 thousand citizens have crossed the state border alone in the past day, and in the weekend this figure exceeds 100 thousand people.
Among them, Ukrainians make up about 85% of the total. The main flow is currently aimed at entering Ukraine, which is explained by the traditional return of citizens home for big holidays and the desire to meet Easter with the family.
Increasing the number of people on the border inevitably leads to the formation of queues, especially in popular directions. Border guards warn that on weekends waiting may be longer than usual.
At the same time, the services work in enhanced mode to ensure the fastest execution of documents and safety control. Particular attention is paid to those who return to Ukraine, because recently there is an advantage for entry, not departure from the country.
In addition to the traditional reasons for increasing passenger traffic, in 2025 there are new rules for crossing the border. In particular, for men between the ages of 18 and 60, departure outside the state is possible only in the presence of a military accounting document with a current VIN code.
This even applies to those who have reasons for departure, such as large parents, persons with disabilities, students, volunteers, athletes and other categories defined by law. Border guards carefully check the documents through the electronic system, and any inaccuracies can be the basis for refusing to cross the border.
We will remind, the State Border Service is involved in the acquisition of its ranks under the “contract 18-24”. Currently, all necessary issues are being agreed with the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
