At the Australian Open 2025, the first women’s semifinal pair has been determined

On January 21, the 2025 Australian Open saw the women’s top-seeded quarter-finals.

Spanish tennis player Paula Bados (WTA 12) created a sensation by beating world number three Coco Goff (USA) in two sets. Badosa reached the semifinals of the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career and won her seventh victory over a representative of the top 5 WTA rankings.

In another quarter-final confrontation Arina Sobolenko passed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in three games. Arina’s winning streak on the Melbourne courts is 19 matches, she won the Aus Open trophy in 2023 and 2024.

On January 22, the Australian major will host the 1/4 final matches in the lower part of the women’s grid. Ukrainian Elina Svitolina will also play her match against Madison Keys.
