From 10 a.m. on December 22 to 9 a.m. on December 23, Russia attacked Ukraine with 72 Shahed drones and other drones. In total, anti-aircraft defense (APD) managed to destroy 47 of them.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The drones were launched from Bryansk and Oryol in Russia.
The following were involved in repelling the attack:
- anti-aircraft missile forces;
- subdivisions of the ERB;
- mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9 am downing of 47 drones was confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa regions.
Also 25 enemy drone simulators were lost in location without negative consequences.
“In the Khmelnytskyi and Kyiv regions, due to the Russian attack, private enterprises and houses of citizens were damaged, previously there were no victims, the victims are provided with assistance,” the Air Force writes.
We will remind that on the night of December 22, the Russian Federation once again attacked Ukraine with drones. One of the UAVs (according to other reports – its wreckage) hit a residential building in Brovary, Kyiv region.
On the night of December 20-21, at least five Russian kamikaze drones of the “Shahed” type flew into Belarus from the territory of Ukraine, which the occupiers sent to Ukrainian settlements.
The Russians launched 113 drones and an S-400 missile over Ukraine on the night of December 21. Air defense shot down half of the launched UAVs.
