It took about 5 kilograms of precious metal for its manufacture, and the final cost of the device is estimated at about $ 500,000.
Tony took the usual ROG Astral RTX 5090D, dismantled it and made forms to replace the standard housing with gold. The video shows the whole process: metal melting, molding, grinding and folding.
The work took several months and was accompanied by many unsuccessful attempts before it was possible to achieve the perfect result.
In addition to holistic gold elements, the video card cooling system is also covered with gilding. The finished device weighs about 7.6 kg, of which 5 kg – pure gold.
Recall that ASUS has already made a gold version of RTX 5090 for the Middle East, but there was only a golden casing there, and then the content of precious metal does not exceed 7.6 grams.
Astral Real Gold Edition, according to Videocardz, was made to order from gold, which was provided by an anonymous investor. Initially, it was planned that the video card was played at a charity auction, but some private collector had already bought GPU directly.
Earlier, we said that a unique NVIDIA video card of 20GB of memory appeared on the market. NVIDIA has never officially released a similar GeForce RTX 3080 configuration.
