The media reported that Trump plans to meet with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the White House for the sake of a historic peace agreement between the two countries that have been in a state of armed conflict for decades.
The media also reported that the meeting of Azerbaijan leaders and Armenia on Friday in Washington should be completed by the signing of the “framework peace agreement”, which will envisages US exclusive rights to develop a strategic transit corridor across the South Caucasus.
Recall: Azerbaijan and Armenia were actually in a state of war after declaring independence more than 30 years ago, and in 2020 and 2023, Azerbaijan returned control over Nagorny Karabakh as a result of hostilities.
In March, the countries declared a significant breakthrough in the negotiations and completion of work on the project of a peace agreement. However, the terms of its signing have still remained uncertain.
