Supporters of anti-Ukrainian parties are more afraid of war because they consider it a “punishment” for supporting Ukraine.

The survey was conducted in early October against the background of recent incidents involving allegedly Russian drones in NATO airspace, particularly over the territory of Germany itself. Researchers believe that these events increased the fears of ordinary Germans about the expansion of the Russian-Ukrainian war into the wider European space due to Europe’s role in supporting Ukraine.
Thus, according to the research, 27% of respondents believe that a military confrontation with the Russian Federation is likely within the next six months, while 61% are inclined to think that such a scenario will not happen.
The level of anxiety was approximately the same among supporters of all major parties – the CDU/CSU Bloc, the SPD, the Greens, and the Left (23–28% believe war is likely). However, supporters of the right-wing populist “Alternative for Germany” (31%) and the National Socialist “Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance” (41%) are most afraid of war.
Young people are most vulnerable to fears – among 18-39-year-olds, 35% see a threat, while in the 60-75 age group, this figure drops to 18%.
Prospects of the Russian invasion of EuropeAs UNIAN wrote, the other day NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed the opinion that China can force Russia to attack European countries in order to divert the attention and resources of the West from the Chinese invasion of Taiwan.
Austrian political scientist Gustav Gressel believes that Russia can attack Europe even without China’s instructions if the war in Ukraine ends on terms that the Kremlin will consider its own victory.
