Details: According to the embassy’s statement, the American side canceled the invitation to Kobakhidze and refused to meet with the Georgian delegation “due to the anti-democratic actions of the Georgian government, misinformation and negative rhetoric directed at the United States and the West.”
Biden will host world leaders and senior UN officials at a traditional reception in New York on September 25.
The media previously reported that Kobakhidze, who heads the Georgian delegation to the UN General Assembly, was initially on the list of invitees to receive the president, but the Biden administration canceled the invitation.
