Another package of military aid from Italy is already on its way to Ukraine – Umerov after meeting with Crozetto

Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov said that during today’s visit of his Italian colleague Guido Crozetto to Kyiv, they agreed to strengthen defense cooperation between Ukraine and Italy.

“The main news is that another package of military aid from Italy is already on its way to Ukraine. These are modern weapons that will help our soldiers deliver powerful blows to the enemy. We also discussed joint efforts in the field of defense industry. We plan to launch joint ventures and other initiatives for maximum support of our defense complex,” he said in a telegram.

According to Umyerov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov also shared with his Italian colleagues current information about the situation on the battlefield and the intentions of the enemy, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi outlined the priority needs of the army.

Crozetto, quoted by the press service of the Italian Ministry of Defense, called the meeting with Umerov “important and meaningful.”

“Our country’s desire to support the Ukrainian people and its institutions remains firm and clear. The priority for Italy, as well as for the EU and NATO, is the immediate cessation of hostilities. “Russian bombs must stop falling on the civilian population. Italy will continue to work for respect for international law and a just peace that respects the rights of peoples,” said the Italian Minister of Defense.

Minister of Defense of Italy Guido Crozetto arrived on an official visit to Ukraine. He also met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who thanked for the support and said that Italy is preparing the 11th support package.

At the same time, the Italian side has not announced the aid package as a result of these meetings.

Earlier this week, Guido Crozetto was a participant in the meeting of defense ministers of five countries in Warsaw – Germany, Great Britain, France, Poland and Italy. As the correspondent of Radio Svoboda reported, during the meeting, the ministers discussed how to help Ukraine and how to increase the defense potential of Europe.
