Annual price growth in Ukraine reached 12% – State Statistics Service

In December 2024, consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 1.4% compared to November, and for the whole year inflation reached 12%.

This is reported by the State Statistics Service.

It is noted that core inflation accelerated to 1.3% in December, making it 10.7% for the year as a whole.

On the consumer market, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.8% in December. The prices of butter, sunflower oil, milk and dairy products, vegetables, processed grain products, bread, beef, fish, pasta and pork increased the most – from 1.0% to 5.2%. At the same time, egg prices decreased by 1.5%.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose in price by 2.0%, with tobacco products increasing in price by 2.7% and alcoholic beverages by 1.2%.

Prices for clothing and footwear fell by 3.9% in December, with footwear falling by 4.0% and clothing by 3.9%. In the field of health care, a 1.6% increase in prices was observed, which caused a 1.8% increase in the price of pharmaceutical products and a 1.6% increase in outpatient services.

In the transport sector, prices increased by 0.5%, mainly due to a 2.1% increase in the cost of road passenger transportation.

According to the data, the largest price increase in December occurred in the category of food products and non-alcoholic beverages – prices increased by 1.8%.
