Wednesday, January 14, will be under the influence of an anticyclone, which will ensure mostly dry, but rather severe winter weather. As a high pressure area dominates most of the area, the sky will remain cloudy with occasional clearings and there will be little to no precipitation. The only exception will be the border areas in the west, Crimea and the coast of the Sea of Azov, where light snow is possible due to the influence of the atmospheric front and moisture from the Black Sea.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook.
Frosts remain strong, especially at night. The coldest will be in the north, where the thermometers will drop to the level -20°C . Central and western regions will also feel a significant cold with indicators -12…-17°C at night and -8…-13°C during the day. Southern regions and Transcarpathia will traditionally have slightly milder conditions, but even there the daytime temperature will remain below zero, except for Crimea, where close to 0°C .
Drivers and pedestrians should be especially careful due to fog that is forecast in the west and north in the morning, as well as ice that remains on the roads in some places. At the same time, the wind will remain weak and will often change direction, which will only contribute to the retention of cold air near the surface of the earth.
For residents of Kyiv and the region, tomorrow will be steadily frosty and without precipitation. In the capital itself at night is expected to -17°C and during the day the temperature will fluctuate within the limits -10…-12°C . In the region, night frosts can be even more noticeable, reaching the mark -20°C . The absence of strong wind will make it a little easier to perceive such low temperatures, but high humidity and fog in the morning can create discomfort.
We will remind, Ukraine will be covered by a wave of severe frosts down to -17°.
Also, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk came out with a shovel to remove the snow.
