According to Kovalenko, command centers, ammunition depots, repair docks and fleet control points are located in Murmansk. There is also testing, in particular, of Zircon missiles.

The direct distance from Murmansk to Ukraine is approximately 2,000 kilometers.
Earlier, the Russian media wrote that two explosions took place in Murmansk on the evening of December 18 and published a recording from a surveillance camera showing the moment of one of the explosions.
The authorities of the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation did not comment on the information about the explosions.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions have regularly come under shelling and drone attacks. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports on downed missiles and drones over the territory of Russia. Kyiv mostly does not comment on these reports.
