An exhibition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artist Oleksandr Murashko will open in Kyiv One of Ant’s most famous paintings is “The Girl in the Red Hat”

The National Art Museum (NAMU) will open a personal exhibition of representative Oleksandr Murashko of Ukrainian modernism.

About this informs press service of the museum.

The exhibition “Olexander Murashko. Color Modulations” is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth and will be Murashko’s first solo exhibition at NAMU in the last 25 years.

Maryna Drobotiuk and Lesya Tolstova became the curators of the exhibition project. For the exhibition “Olexandr Murashko. Color Modulations”, they collected works covering all stages of the artist’s creativity, such as oil still lifes and late portraits of the artist.

“The exhibition project demonstrates the evolution of color solutions, which reveal the change in Murashko’s views on the reproduction of the world. From the restrained gray scale of the early period to impressionistic pink and golden-blue shades, which later give way to deep lilac-purple tones. The final chord of the artist’s work is intense blue, his favorite color, which reflects the artist’s approach to the worldview of the modernist era”, the message says.

The curators paid considerable attention to the works that reflect the stylistic and emotional depth of Murashko’s work, but were almost never exhibited before.

The exhibition “Olexandr Murashko. Color Modulations” will run from October 18, 2025 to January 26, 2026 at the National Art Museum of Ukraine (6 Mykhaila Hrushevsky St., service entrance from the rear of the building).
