Ukrainian patriots are suffering, experiencing the loss of loved ones, the constant threat of night attacks and serious problems with the availability of goods – and all this against the background of the fact that kleptocrats with the nicknames “Sugarman” and “Che Guevara” are looting the state treasury.
These crimes also deeply outrage decent citizens of the United States, who became the main benefactors of Ukraine during the war. In fact, without America’s large-scale financial support and ongoing intelligence cooperation, Ukraine would have already lost this war.

Fortunately, how carefully documented by “Ukrainian Pravda”there are still dedicated patriots in Ukraine who believe in transparency and accountability, especially in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. These brave detectives continue their critical work despite constant harassment and even illegal, warrantless searches of NABU offices by Zelenskyi’s police.
It is now clear that those raids in June – as well as the broader attacks on independent investigators – were a direct result of the fact that the Office of the President was aware of the upcoming investigation and criminal charges, particularly against Timur Mindic.
And the fact that Mindich and his chief financial henchman Oleksandr “Sugarman” Zuckerman are now safe in Israel while the scandal rages in Kyiv clearly indicates that both men were warned of possible arrest. Mindich fled the country just hours before independent investigators came to search his apartments, including one that housed a lavish “golden bathroom” allegedly paid for with his criminal proceeds.
While they enjoy luxury abroad, daring detective Magamedrasulov is in prison in Ukraine, facing trumped-up charges from Zelenskyi’s regime, which claims he was “working for Russia.” This false incriminating formula about “collaboration with the Russians” has become a typical dirty attack of Zelenskyi against almost all political or investigative opponents in Ukraine.
No wonder Americans are tired of such systemic corruption.
Moreover, as reported by ABC News in the USA, the American FBI is now cooperating with NABU in the framework of this Ukrainian investigation.
Ukrainians should know that the economic sentiment inside the United States is deteriorating, because problems with the availability of goods and services continue to worry American workers. In such conditions, the prospect of financing a group of fraudsters from Zelenskyi’s entourage overseas becomes politically impossible.
Surveys confirm this. For example, a recent nationwide survey of young US voters aged 18-25 shows that only 23% of young people want to remain “involved” in Ukraine’s affairs if Zelensky and Putin do not reach a peaceful settlement soon. More broadly, two-thirds of Americans (66%) believe that the US is “intervening too actively” in foreign conflicts.
Zelensky’s popularity began to decline even before these serious revelations. Americans tend to focus on domestic affairs – and now especially on their own problems rather than distant wars. As the details of Operation Midas look more and more like a corrupt circus, public support for American involvement in Ukraine is rapidly diminishing.
So, in order for the US to continue to act as a key partner of the Ukrainian people, four steps must be taken:
If these specific reforms are implemented, the United States will continue to be the most important partner of the Ukrainian people in helping to achieve a just peace and successful reconstruction. Ukraine’s recovery must include a systemic breakthrough in the fight against corruption so that Ukrainians can achieve the level of lasting prosperity they deserve.
