The company calls the device a breakthrough in robotics.

The main feature of Vulcan is the ability to feel the shape, material and pressure when capturing the object. This enables him to work with millions of goods without damaging the packaging or reducing speed.
The company calls this system a fundamental jump forward in the development of robotics and has already introduced it in its warehouses in the US, where Vulcan helps to sort and pack orders along with other machines. According to Amazon, the robot already processes about 75% of the platform range and does so with a productivity that can be compared to human work.
According to the director of the direction of robotics with AI in Amazon Aaron Parnessa, Vulcan works with people, and in communication they are more efficient than alone. The robot should not replace employees, but remove some physical activity and increase the overall safety in the warehouse.
The company also emphasizes that the introduction of such systems does not reduce. On the contrary, hundreds of new professions have emerged: from service engineers to operators of robotic systems.
Vulcan – a technology that seemed impossible three years ago, Paraness added. In the coming years, Amazon plans to launch work in warehouses all over Europe and the US. In parallel, the company invites employees to undergo retraining so that they can move on to engineering and techno -specializations related to robotics.
Development of robotics is the latest newsRecently, Intel also boasted of its achievements in automation: the company presented the work-sac of the chip, which monitors the serviceability of work equipment in production.
In addition, in Japan, a new “robot-horse” was presented, it has a hoof and can climb a mountain. However, such a robot is still under development.
