“
The Ukrainian national team made brilliantly: our athletes competed in 19 sports and won 44 medals – 16 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze. This is the second best result in the history of our country’s speeches.
The record remains the previous World Games in Birmingham (Alabama, USA), where Ukrainians won 45 awards, including 16 gold.
The greatest success in Chenda was brought to scuba disciplines – 11 medals at once. Another 10 awards were won by our Perlifters. To this should be added brilliant performances in the martial arts, sports aerobics, rowing and spectacular waikboreding.
What are worldwide games? These are global multi -sports competitions that are held every four years and collect athletes in those disciplines that are not part of the Olympic program.
The organizer is the International Association of the World Games (IWGA), established in 1980 on the initiative of 12 international federations. Since 2001, the tournament has been under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.

Games traditionally occur a year after the Olympics. For the first time, Ukraine participated in 1993, when our athletes won three silver medals. Since then, the path of our national team is the history of growth, character and new sports achievements.
