Young buzzing stars Olivia Dean, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, Katseye, Addison Rae, Sombr, Lola Young and The Marias are all performing for a best new artist segment, live from the Crypto.com Arena on February 1 during the Grammys telecast.
The BNA segment is the latest performance reveal after the Academy announced on Tuesday that Sabrina Carpenter would be performing for the second year in a row, following her lauded Grammy debut last year.
Of this year’s best new artist nominees, Thomas has the most nominations overall with six, including for album of the year for Mutt and best R&B song for “Yes It Is.” Dean, meanwhile, has had her star rise significantly in the past several months, as reflected by the chaotic on-sale for her The Art of Loving Live tour. Her hit “Man I Need” currently sits at number four on the Hot 100. Warren had the biggest song of the bunch though with “Ordinary,” which spent 10 weeks atop the Hot 100.
The Grammys will air on February 1 on CBS and Paramount+ at 5 pm Trevor Noah is returning to host, with this year marking the comedian’s last time as MC after first taking the gig for the 2021 show. This year also marks the last year the Grammys will air on CBS before switching over to Disney next year.
