The boxer from Kazakhstan passed a positive doping test, so his fight with the representative of Cuba was canceled. According to ESPN, Lara will face Venezuela’s Yohan Gonzalez (36-4, 34 KB) to defend his title.
The Cuban stopped former world champion Danny Garcia in the ninth round last September, after which he did not appear in the ring. Gonzalez defeated his compatriot Jarrett Hjord by split decision in March.
