In the 4th round of the major, the Spaniard took the court against the British Jack Draper (Great Britain, ATP 18). The Spaniard won the first two sets, after which Draper refused to continue the match.

This was the fourth meeting of the rivals. Alcaraz won the third head-to-head.
The exact reason for Draper’s removal is not yet clear, but it is possible that the Brit is concerned about his hip. The same injury ruled him out of the 2025 United Cup and was unable to train alongside Alcaraz as planned.
Jack won all three matches in five sets at the 2025 Aus Open, spending a total of over 12 hours on court before playing Carlos.
Carlos reached the quarterfinals of the Australian major for the second time in his career. In 2024, he also reached this stage. Carlitos lacks only the Australian Open title from the Grand Slam trophies.
For the semi-finals at the AO-2025, the Spaniard will compete against the winner of the confrontation between Novak Djokovic and Jiri Legechka.
