As of 19:00, a temporary worsening of the air condition is observed in Kyiv, the Kyiv City State Administration reports in a telegram.

According to the KMDA data, an increase in the concentration of suspended particles (dust) is recorded.

The local authorities cite fires in the ecosystem of the Kyiv region as the probable cause of the temporary deterioration of the air condition, and to improve the situation with the air condition, the following are recommended:

  • close the windows;
  • limit being outside;
  • drink a lot of water;
  • if there is an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum.

On the morning of September 20, the Kyiv City State Administration warned of worsening air conditions in the capital of Ukraine, linking it to fires in the Kyiv region. The regional administration reported fires in peat bogs, grass beds and forest litter in Vyshgorod, Brovar, Obukhiv and Boryspil districts.

According to the KMDA, at that time air pollution in Kyiv exceeded the limit of permissible concentrations by five times.
