The air attack was repulsed by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, units of EW and unmanned systems, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Details: According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense shot down/suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country.
A ballistic missile and 8 strike UAVs were hit at 5 locations.
The head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that for three consecutive nights, the Russian Federation used a relatively small number of drones, but air alarms and air defense work did not stop.
According to him, this time the Russian Federation attacked approximately 60 UAVs, and in the previous two nights there were even fewer of them. At the same time, he recalled that earlier, with an interval of a few days, Russian troops carried out two massive combined strikes on objects, and then the capital was particularly affected.
Commenting on the current night, the officer noted that the Russian Federation launched two ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea and from the Voronezh region. According to him, Ukrainian air defense intercepted one of them.
Ignat’s direct speech: “Thus, today (December 30 – UP) we have shot down 52 drones and one ballistic missile. This is a high percentage of the effectiveness of air defense.
Therefore, the fight for Ukrainian skies continues every night: air defense forces try to intercept targets as far as possible from cities, on the slopes, as was the case this night. Piloted aviation worked, and interceptor drones were also actively used when weather conditions allowed. This innovative method of shooting down drones is used as another element of air defense.”
