On January 10, German boxer Agit Kabael will defend the interim WBC heavyweight title against Damian Knyba in Germany.
Kabael hopes that for the first time since the era of the Klitschko brothers, the Germans will regain interest in boxing.
“Earlier, Germany was very interested in boxing, but after the era of Klitschko, we were done with boxing. And this is the problem I intend to solve.”
“I will return boxing to the German fans. I am already the interim WBC champion and I want to become a full-fledged champion,” said Kabayel.
In case of success, Kabayel could become a mandatory contender for the fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian received the right of voluntary defense against Deontay Wilder.
