Direct speech Trump: “I don’t want to comment on that, the answer is yes.

I wouldn’t say it went well or badly. It was a phone conversation.”

Details: CNN adds that media previously reported that Trump and Maduro spoke by phone earlier this month.

According to Trump, he issued a warning about the closed space over Venezuela “because we consider Venezuela not a very friendly country.”

“Don’t see anything special in this,” Trump said.

What preceded: Trump allowed negotiations with Nicolás Maduro, the leader of Venezuela, on which the American side has increased pressure in recent months to fight drug trafficking.

Trump also said that the United States will “very soon” begin to take measures to stop the ground movement of Venezuelans suspected of drug trafficking.

We will remind: On November 14, US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth announced the start of a large-scale military operation, which, according to the official statements of the US administration, is aimed at combating drug trafficking.

However, the unprecedented deployment of military forces, including an aircraft carrier strike group, and earlier discussions in the White House about options for military operations in Venezuela could indicate a possible military intervention.

Previously, a number of American media, including The New York Times, reported that the Trump administration was studying options for legalizing Venezuela’s declaration of war and the use of special forces to conduct ground operations on its territory.
