Details: According to the police, Mra traffic accident happened the day before around 7:30 p.m. on the 204th kilometer of the Kyiv-Chop highway, near the village of Kamiany Maidan, Zvyagel district.

It was preliminarily established that the driver of the Mercedes-Benz car, a 49-year-old man from Kyiv (Mazepa -ed.), was moving in the direction of the city of Zhytomyr. On an unlit section of the road, he ran into a 60-year-old resident of the community who was crossing the roadway.
Unfortunately, as a result of the accident, the pedestrian died on the way to the hospital.
Verbatim police: “According to the results of the preliminary examination, the driver of the car was sober.
Investigators of the General Prosecutor’s Office in Zhytomyr Region have started a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The establishment of all the causes and circumstances of the event is ongoing.”
Mazepa’s direct speech: “In order to prevent possible insinuations, I inform you that I was not tired, did not use any substances prohibited for drivers, which was confirmed by a medical examination on the spot, and did not violate any traffic rules.
