Investigators of the Security Service prevented the escape from Ukraine of a Russian agent who turned out to be a well-known lawyer in the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to law enforcement officers, he was correcting Russian missile strikes on the regional center.

The suspect was detained at the “Krakivets” checkpoint when he tried to leave the country, writes the SBU press service.

“It was documented how the traitor corrected the enemy’s missile attack on a local company that modernizes and restores attack and reconnaissance drones. It was established that in order to cause maximum damage, he gave the FSB not just the general coordinates of the company, but the exact location of the technological workshops and UAV storage warehouses. Subsequently, the Rashists launched an attack at his coordinates, as a result of which six Ukrainians were killed and 30 were seriously wounded.” – writes the SBU press service.

Civilian infrastructure objects were also damaged from the Russian attacks, in the correction of which the person involved was involved.

According to the investigation, the agent communicated with the curator from the Russian Federation through a “liaison”, who turned out to be an old acquaintance of the person involved, the so-called “first deputy head of the Krasnogvardiy district administration of Crimea”, who works for the FSB.

The traitor reported to the Russian curators about the consequences of the “arrival”, and for further shelling of the city of Dnipro, he sent the coordinates of another strategic object located in the city.

Counterintelligence officers and SBU investigators documented the crimes and arrested the man while trying to escape.

During searches of the detainee’s home and office, mobile phones and SIM cards with evidence of his subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation were seized.

Security Service investigators informed him of suspicion of treason. In general, we are talking about suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • h 2 Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law);
  • h 2 Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The perpetrator has already been remanded in custody, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Previously, the SBU and the National Police caught men who were tasked by the Russian special services to destroy military trucks.

In Kharkiv, law enforcement officers exposed two teenagers who, on the order of the Russian Federation, set fire to the cars of Ukrainian defenders.

We also reported that since the beginning of this year, the police recorded more than 340 cases of setting fire to military vehicles, despite the fact that last year these were only isolated cases.
