Vadym Hetman State University with the assistance of the National Association of Lawyers of Ukraine (NAAU) announces the all-Ukrainian legal student competition “New Ukraine through the eyes of young lawyers”. The purpose of the competition is to create the best legal student work on the creation of an international legal treaty for Ukraine after the end of the war.
This was announced during the presentation of the competition in the press center of UNIAN.
Oleksiy Shevchuk, head of the Center for Legal Information and Expert Research of KNEU, explained that the goal is to involve young people in creating “that security treaty that everyone is talking about”.
“The fact is that our country has been in a state of turbulence for the last years of the full-scale invasion. We talk a lot about peace talks, about the victory of Ukraine, but for all these four years, no one asked the youth whether they are ready for a new country today,” said Shevchuk.
The competition is open to all young lawyers, regardless of educational institution.
The prize fund in the amount of UAH 500,000 was donated by NAAU members and will be distributed as follows:

first place — UAH 200,000;

the second — UAH 150,000;

the third — UAH 100,000;

an additional UAH 50,000 will be awarded for the best work at the discretion of the contest sponsor.
Dmytro Lukyanenko, Rector of the Vadym Hetman State University, expressed his hope that the students “will identify those moments, key reference points that need to be changed, perhaps in international law,” and will offer “non-standard ways out of our terrible situation.” Lyudmila Kozhura, the director of KNEU Law Institute, emphasized that this is “a platform for young people who… are already ready to create their future.”
