The man tried to transport more than 19,000 units of liquids for electronic cigarettes, hiding them from customs control. The operation of the law enforcement officers made it possible to prevent the entry of contraband into the Ukrainian market.
Detectives of the Territorial Department of the BEB in the Lviv region established that the suspect planned to import the goods from Poland without paying the excise tax and customs payments.
Investigators documented all the circumstances of the crime and detained the violator while trying to cross the state border. The examination confirmed the excise nature of the seized products.
Commodity examination determined the value of confiscated liquids for electronic cigarettes — it exceeded 12 million hryvnias. This amount includes both the market value of the goods and lost budget revenues from unpaid taxes.
