Nikopol football player Vladyslav Strelchuk was killed by Russian shelling.
The occupiers killed the 31-year-old athlete in Nikopol, Sicheslav Oblast, on the last day of January 2026. The local police reported that the Russians fired artillery during the day on one of the city’s central streets. People who were near the store were injured. In addition to the deceased football player, six more people were injured of varying degrees of severity.
Strelchuk was a pupil of Nikopol football. Vlad played for regional, city and district teams of the Nikopol district. Due to the tragic events, all matches of the fourth round of the championship of the Nikopol district, which were planned for Sunday, were postponed.
