Source: The State Prosecutor’s Office of Estonia, “European Truth” with reference to Postimeees Details: According to the suspicion, at least since 2022, Oleg Besedin, in cooperation with persons acting in the interests of the Russian special services, participated in the informational influence of Russia. “We have pointed out security threats related to Besedin’s activities before in our yearbooks and public speeches. Today there are grounds to suspect Besedin of a state crime,” said Taavi Narits, Deputy Director General of the Security Police Department. “With the informational influence of the Kremlin, in which, according to the suspicion, Besedin participated, attempts were made to create opportunities for Russia to interfere in the internal affairs of the Republic of Estonia,” he added. Among other things, Oleg Besedin is suspected of repeatedly distributing the content of Russian media channels that are subject to sanctions. This is considered a violation of European Union sanctions. “In Estonia, non-violent activity directed against the Republic of Estonia, which harms our independence, sovereignty or territorial integrity, is also punished as a state crime. Accordingly, active, purposeful participation in Russian influence activities is also punished. According to the suspicion, Oleg Besedin’s actions went beyond the scope of discussion protected by the Constitution and turned into purposeful activity in the interests of a state hostile to Estonia,” said the leading State Prosecutor Taavi Pern. Oleg Ivanov, a former member of the board of the pro-Kremlin party Koos, was one of the first to announce the detention of the well-known blogger-propagandist, administrator of the “Tallinntsi” group Oleg Besedin on the evening of November 4. In his video appeal, published on his personal Facebook page, Ivanov, who fled to Russia in 2024, said that he had extremely unpleasant news: “The news is as follows: today at 11 a.m., thieves broke into the studio of Oleg Besedin – my associate on the YouTube channel, my friend.” Ivanov said that there were twenty employees of the Security Police Department. “They searched all day, they allegedly found something,” Ivanov said. According to him, Besedin was taken away at seven in the evening. “We don’t know Oleg’s fate at the moment,” said the former co-founder of Koos. Yesterday, the Russian-language Facebook group “Tallinntsi”, which is administered by Besedin, was blocked. His YouTube channel no longer appears in search. Oleg Ivanov complained that these were the last channels in Estonia that provided an opportunity for broadcasting to people with any views, including those whose opinion they – Besedin and Ivanov – did not share. In fact, those who followed the activities of Besedin and Ivanov note that there were no opinions that differed from their position on the channels. Oleg Ivanov himself is currently wanted internationally. Estonia declared him wanted not at all because of his openly pro-Kremlin activities, but because of suspicion of fraud with cryptocurrencies. It will be recalled that two years ago, the Estonian Security Police detained Allan Huntsom, a member of the pro-Kremlin party Koos, on suspicion of spying against the country.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
