The petition to ban Russian -speaking music on strings has gained the required number of votes in order for it to be considered by the Cabinet of Ministers. The petition explains that Russian -speaking music can carry the idea and message harmful to Ukrainian identity.

The petition for blocking music in Russian on strings platforms in Ukraine gathered the necessary 25,000 votes in three days. The petition appeared on the Cabinet of Ministers website on February 17. As of Thursday, February 20, almost 28,000 users have been signed.
The proposal states that, every time Ukrainians listen to Russian -language music, they contribute to the financing of the aggressor. The money received by Russian performers for listening to their music goes to the budget of Russia, and some of them are used to fund hostilities, including rockets that kill Ukrainians. This poses a real threat to our national security.
