Ukrainian troops probably fought 2.7 km on the first day of the new offensive in the Kursk region of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
About this was reported by an OSINT analyst with the pseudonym Def Mon.
In its publication, Def Mon referred to geolocated footage released by Russian propagandists from RIA Novosti. In the video published by them, it was claimed that the army of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation “repelled the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.”
In the footage, you can see the fighting to the east of the Berdyn village and to the west of the village of Novosotnytskyi – these settlements are located next to each other.
Map published in the compilation of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for January 5, also indicates that Ukrainian servicemen advanced in the southern part of Berdin and reached the road that connects it with Novosotnytskyi.
Def Mon noted that it is not yet known whether the soldiers of the Armed Forces managed to gain a foothold in the new positions in the Kursk region.
