Under the procedural guidance of the juvenile prosecutors of the Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Kyiv, a 35-year-old native of Zaporozhye was informed of the suspicion of committing lewd acts against minors (Part 2 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In particular, it is reported that the man approached 10-11-year-old children on the street and asked them to help him get keys or a key ring from his pants pocket.
After the children consented, they touched the suspect’s genitals in his pocket.
The man was detained and reported as a suspect. He is currently being remanded in custody. The sanction of the article under which he is suspected provides a punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of 5 to 8 years.
Law enforcement officers are also checking information to see if the perpetrator was active in other areas of the city.
