As The Guardian reports, the work was stored in one of the libraries in Leipzig.

Entitled Ganz kleine Nachtmusik (“A Little Music for the Night”), the work dates from the mid-to-late 1760s and consists of seven miniature movements for string trio lasting about 12 minutes.

Researchers discovered the piece in the city’s music library while compiling the latest edition of the Köchel catalogue, the definitive archive of Mozart’s musical works.

According to researchers, the recently discovered manuscript was not written by Mozart himself, but is believed to be a copy made around 1780. It is claimed that this work still exists in a single manuscript, and the indication of the author in it suggests that the work was written before Mozart’s first trip to Italy.

Ganz kleine Nachtmusik was performed by a string trio at the launch of Köchel’s new catalog in the Austrian city of Salzburg on Thursday. Its German premiere will take place on Saturday at the Leipzig Opera.

Other unusual findsAs UNIAN wrote, artificial intelligence found someone else’s drawing on Raphael’s famous painting. Researchers believe that one of the four figures on the canvas was not drawn by the master himself.

We also told that archaeologists discovered a secret lost language that existed 3000 years ago. Inscriptions in an unknown language were found in Turkey.
