Russian troops do not stop the assault of the village of Basivka, located in the Yunakiv community in Sumy region. It is the largest settlement in the border area where shelters are available. That is why it can be tried to turn it into a support point for further promotion in the direction of Yunakivka.

This was stated by Public Ruslan Mikula, co -founder of the analytical project of Deepstate.

There are some shelters, there are cellars, something was dug there, especially in the last half of a year. This is a good stronghold for the enemy for further assault actions in the direction of Yunakivka. Because there is almost nothing in Zhuravka. The same situation in Veselivka. In the new, two cellars in the whole village were in general. There are no villages, there are just two cellars where you can hide. Actually, they are a basin and storm. There is a shelter, there is a place to accumulate. Not a very strategic but important importance for the Russian army, ”said Mikula.

According to him, the logistics support of the Ukrainian forces is not underway near the village of Basivka. The Russian military attempts to break through small assault groups using buggy. Despite this, Ukrainian defenders strike the enemy, and the situation in the direction remains without significant changes, said Deepstate representative.

At the same time, Mikula noted that the situation remains difficult because the village is almost completely destroyed. He also added that Russian troops tried to move towards Locke from the border, but a group of eight people who participated in this attempt was liquidated.

On April 6, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security stated that Russian propaganda channels spread information about the alleged capture of Basivka village in Sumy region, these statements are false.

Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko reported that he had made a comment on the situation in Basivka from the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko.

Russian groups are now present in Basivka, but the village is not under their control, hostilities are ongoing, ”said, in particular, a spokesman for the State Border Service.

On April 4, Demchenko reported that in the Sumy region Russian storms continue to try to cross the Ukrainian border and fix themselves, but they are destroyed on the approaches and after crossing the border.

In an interview with Le Figaro, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russian army is preparing for the offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions and is trying to win time.
