“Due to the “oversize” on the adjacent track, the locomotive crew of passenger train 45/46 Kharkiv-Uzhgorod made an emergency stop of its own train, its locomotive derailed. Among the passengers, there were no injured people (one passenger, however, was cut by glass – assistance was provided on the spot). The crew of the freight train was injured: a driver and an assistant. Both are hospitalized,” the message reads.
According to “UZ”, in connection with this, train 45/46 will run with a “significant delay”, as well as “there will be an impact on a number of subsequent trains – we are already rerouting through Shepetivka, Kozyatyn, Fastiv”. Delays are expected from three hours.
Trains depart via Fastiv instead of Korosten:
- #1/123 Kharkiv – Ivano-Frankivsk, Vorokhta;
- #44/50 Ivano-Frankivsk – Cherkasy;
- 92 Lviv – Kyiv;
- 30 Uzhhorod – Kyiv;
- 8/150 Chernivtsi – Kyiv;
- 52 Przemyśl – Kyiv;
- 68/20 Warsaw, Holm – Kyiv;
- 108 Solotvyno – Kyiv.
As an exception, train No. 98 Kovel – Kyiv will pass through Zhytomyr, and the delay will be somewhat shorter, the company added.
At the station “Shepetivka” they organize a transfer to the suburban shuttle in the direction of Korosten, and similarly in the opposite direction.
The reasons for the descent of the freight train are still unknown.
