The perpetrators were charged with part 1 of Art. 114 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (espionage).
It was established that the foreigner entered Ukraine in 2022 and acted on the instructions of a foreign special service. In 2024, the suspect impersonated an engineer of a state-owned enterprise and offered him $1 million for technical documentation for one of the Ukrainian planes.
The engineer handed him a flash drive with materials labeled “Confidential” and containing state secrets. But Fr immediately after receiving the carrier, the agent was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine.
