Details: Yerlikaya expressed condolences in connection with the death of 76 people as a result of the fire in the hotel.
“The faces of 52 bodies have been identified with their families, and the bodies of 45 dead citizens have been handed over to their families as of now. As for the rest, we have not been able to conduct identification studies,” he announced.
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry added that nine people have already been detained in connection with the incident (previously it was reported about four).
“The entire process from the first day of operation of the hotel to today is being studied in great detail,” the official promised.
The Minister of Health of Turkey, Kemal Memishoglu, in his turn stated that 51 people were injured as a result of the incident, one of them is in intensive care in a serious condition, another 17 have already been discharged, and the rest continue to receive treatment.
As reported, the fire started in the middle of the night in the hotel at the Kartalkaya Ski Center ski resort.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a one-day national mourning in connection with the fire tragedy.
